2 Months in Norway - Score!

Life has been a little chaotic the start of this year. I have to say that I really stopped worrying about my work and became focused on other issues which caused a bit of a problem as I was sent out as the lead hand on a technical job which I consequently ballsed up.  As with most things in life, if you don't keep practicing you forget how things should be done and I found this very evident on my last job. Any way, I will take the tough lessons learnt and hopefully not make the same mistakes again. After this though I got sent to Stavanger in Norway. It is so estranged from the base in Abu Dhabi it nearly feels like a different company although they still play the same game keeping you in the dark till 5 mins before anything is supposed to happen.

Stavanger and Norway seem very nice though and it is amazing to feel like I am back in a civilized country. I do actually quite like Abu Dhabi but I find that there are terrible undercurrents there that make life unpleasant at times. The constant belief of the Arab's that they are superior to everybody and that if people moved to Abu Dhabi they should expect and accept to be treated like crap or else can leave was really getting me down. Here in Norway people treat me as an equal and it is amazingly refreshing and pleasant. It great and leaves every person feeling better about themselves which in turn generates a kind of good karma effect as they are more polite and pleasant to those around them generating this very nice cycle.

So, life in Norway is great - im just hoping to get out of the hotel i am staying in and begin to make some friends with the other engineers as it does feel rather lonely!
